Light curve of GSC 04024-00551 from images taken with Bradford Robotic Telescope Cluster Camera between 2012 Sep 7 and 2015 Jan 12.
AAVSO VSX entry 2015 February 4.
A number of observations were subsequently made using a V filter; 12 using the Bradford Robotic Telescope Galaxy Camera between 2015 August 5 and 2016 January 8, and 22 with the Open University COAST telescope between 2018 December 28 and 2019 September 3. The resulting light curve is shown below.
Note that both sets of observations were reduced using the same comparison stars. The large change in magnitude between the two groups of observations coincides with the different systems used to observe the star, but the following light curve - which includes the light curve of a checkstar - suggests that this difference is predominantly due to actual changes in the variable.
Note that this star is classified as spectral type C, i.e. a carbon star (AAVSO VSX accessed 2019 December 7).
