  • Observing Eclipsing Binaries Using Remote Observatories

V3288 Ophiuchi / V3288 Oph

Light curve of the EA type eclipsing binary V3288 Ophiuchi / V3288 Oph.  (This star has previously been catalogued as NSV 10028.)

​This was constructed from photometry of 73 images taken with the Open University 14 inch Schmidt-Cassegrain COAST telescope taken between 2017 July 5 and 2018 January 27 with the V filter.

Picture

​The period of this system is listed as 704 days (AAVSO VSX, accessed 2018 January 28).  The irregularities in the light curve are possibly due to the system being a Z Andromedae symbiotic system (op cit).

I hope to add more observations as and when they become available.
